Awards Night is an annual showcase that celebrates a year of hard work in Academic, Community, Cultural and Sporting arenas.
A large proportion of the evening is dedicated to Academic Awards, that are given to students across the College for their dedication to learning.
PREP LEVEL AWARD
is awarded to students for excellence in conduct, effort, citizenship or academic achievement.
SUBJECT EXCELLENCE AWARD
Year 1 to 12
is awarded to the highest achieving "A" student in each year level for each subject or highest student by Principal's discretion in each year level for each subject or individual program.
DISTINCTION AWARD
Year 1 to 6
is awarded to the top 15 students based on a GPA.
Year 7 to 12
is awarded to the students who have achieved a GPA between 4 to 4.49.
HONOUR AWARD
Year 1 to 6
is awarded to the top 5 students based on a GPA.
Year 7 to 12
is awarded to the students who have achieved a GPA of 4.5 and above.
Dux of the College is Awarded to the student who has achieved the most outstanding academic results in the exiting cohort determined by the Level of Achievement and rung placements of the student's best 20 semesters in Authority Subjects at verification.
The Leadership & Excellence Awards are presented to a student in Year 10, 11 and 12 who has demonstrated leadership and academic excellence.
Senior Artist of the Year is awarded to a student from Year 10, 11 or 12 who extends their artistry both within and beyond the College in one or more art forms. He or she works positively and collaboratively with staff, students, visiting artists and volunteers.
Junior Secondary Artist of the Year is awarded to a student from Year 7, 8 or 9 who extends their artistry both within and beyond the College in one or more art forms. He or she works positively and collaboratively with staff, students, visiting artists and volunteers.
Best All Rounder is awarded to a Year 12 student who has displayed exemplary conduct and general all-round scholastic achievement and has served the College in extra-curricular activities. This award has been donated by Ampol.
The Citizenship Award is awarded to one student from each campus who has participated as an active and informed citizen in the College as well as wider College community. These contributions may have been in the education, social, cultural or ecological spheres.
The Quiet Achiever Award is awarded to a Senior Campus student who has achieved his or her personal goals and aspirations and excelled in a range of endeavours in a quiet and unassuming manner.
The Capalaba State College Values Award is awarded to one student from each campus that has shown enthusiasm in all aspects of College life and demonstrates College values in their actions.
The School Based Apprenticeship / Traineeship Award is awarded to the student in the scheme who has demonstrated to employers and our Registered Training Organisation personnel outstanding workplace standards.
The ADF Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Awards is awarded to one student in Year 10 and one student in Year 12 who have demonstrated high level leadership skills and teamwork. This award is sponsored by the Australian Defence Force.
The Rotary All Rounder Award is awarded to a student in their final year on the Junior Campus. The student is recognised as being involved in all aspects of student life. They have achieved academically and contributed to other aspects of the school's program and extracurricular activies.
The First Nations Leadership Awards is awarded to one student from each campus who has demonstrated cultural leadership both in the College and in the wider community.
The Resilience Awards is awarded to a Junior Secondary Student and Senior Secondary Student who has shown resilience and overcome adversity to achieve positive outcomes in their schooling and life.
The Public Speaking Award is awarded to the student who has achieved the highest public speaking standard.
The Young Writers Award is awarded to a student in Year 6 who has consistently demonstrated excellence and creativity in their writing. This student strives to create texts, using evocative and descriptive language in their narratives and creating compelling arguments to persuade their audience. They take great pride in their writing, pursuing success and never setting for anything but their best.
The Community Spirit Award is awarded to the student who has actively engaged in the school community with integrity and pride. They have encompassed all that it means to be a community member, creating change, actively involving themselves in activities and programs intended to benefit others.
The PCYC Award is awarded for excellence in academic or sporting subjects. Student receives a bursary to help towards the cost of further tutoring, coaching or lessons in the area of achievement.
