I hope you have had
a safe and happy break with your family and friends. As you would be aware,
COVID-19 and the new Omicron variant continues to impact our daily lives.
To ensure the health
and safety of our students, staff and families the Premier has announced
changes to the school year.
As a number of my
friends entered isolation, I tried to escape to Airlie Beach for the week,
pretending that COVID and changes to the school year didn’t exist, but the
significant staff shortages in a number of businesses in the area made it quite
clear that the impact was widespread!
My partner noticed
me talking/whinging to myself a few times (something I do when I am
frustrated), which may have been about how incredibly sunburnt I was getting
(think two tone legs and a t-shirt tan) and how I, as a grown adult, still
forget to re-apply sunscreen after swimming; OR adjustments to the start of the
school year… both equally painful!
We have had to make
a few adjustments to how we do business over the next couple of weeks. It is
far from ideal, and not how we like to operate, but my priority is the safety
of our staff. If our staff are safe, our students are safe.
Scheduled / New Enrolment Interviews - I have loved meeting most of
our new families through the enrolment interviews in 2021, and had about
twenty booked in for this week. I am unable to do them at this time
however.
- If you have not dropped your
paperwork in because you had an interview scheduled, please complete the
online form (https://app.enquirytracker.net/request-application/e9b98238833b48339fa3e5fa7a983c4c/XawJpGJfP9cE3XOlvZyW)
- We will follow up with a
phone call during the week to discuss the information on the enrolment
forms (paper forms already dropped in and applications completed online),
finalise subjects if necessary and to discuss any specific needs for your
student
- We will also ask you once we are operating as normal to complete some paper based forms as well.
Uniform Shop bookings- We had the uniform shop all
set up and ready to go!
- We will operate the start of
the year with online purchasing only (all measurements available online).
- Please see the instructions
on our website (https://capalabasc.eq.edu.au/facilities/uniform-shop)
- If you are unsure of which
class your student in is, just select “A”, (example: 1A, 4A, 7A). This can
be adjusted later

- Wednesday 26th January 2022

I will then
communicate in more detail once again on Wednesday 2nd February 2022, preparing
to ALL start onsite Monday 7th February 2022.
Thank you in advance… This is far from
ideal, and not how we want to start the year either, please be respectful to our team when you see them by socially
distancing, and just as importantly, with courtesy and manners.
