Capalaba State College is a part of the Redlands Roos District School Sport and a part of the Metropolitan East region.
There are five key steps in the representative pathway:
- School sports: Students begin their journey in school sports, participating in various sporting activities organised within their schools. These events serve as the foundation for identifying talent and developing skills.
- District trials: Through student notices and emails, students are encouraged to nominate to trial for a range of sports throughout the year. Students trial for their district, allowing them the opportunity to demonstrate their potential and progress further in the pathway.
- Regional trials: Students who succeed at district trials advance to regional trials, where they compete against other districts for an opportunity to be selected in a regional team.
- State Championships: Students compete as a member from their selected region at the State Championships. There are 12 regions across the state. The State Championships showcase the best sporting talent and gives students the opportunity to shine on a statewide platform.
- National Championships/exchange program: Athletes may be selected from the State Championships to represent Queensland at the National Championships, exchange event or other competition as a part of their journey. All experiences provide an opportunity to broaden staff and students’ horizons and experience different sporting cultures.
