Excursion Description:
Students will participate in a clowning workshop led by a guest clown performer and the cast of a dedicated clowning show. This workshop is designed to provide students with an understanding of the art of clowning, focusing on character development, the joy of performance, and the mechanics of eliciting laughter.
Students will also get to watch a clowning show which features the performers running the workshop. This performance is practical application of the principals explored in the workshop and a great example for year 9 and 10 students creating their own clowning performances in class.

Activity Risk Management Strategies:
A group of students (Max 24) will be in the Cultural Centre using the stage and audience seating area. This site has been checked for hazards and activities have been appropriately situated for the space. A first aid kit is present at this location and appropriate emergency medical treatment provisions will be available if needed.
Before engaging with any drama or clowning activities students will have a warm-up and the session will conclude with a warm-down. All activities will be conducted safely and will be suitable for the incursion.
The event will be run with a registered teacher and an activity leader who will manage the activity safely. Any activity guests will have blue cards.

Students are to wear their school uniform.
Other:
As this is a half day incursion students will need to bring their lunch and any school supplies for the day.
Activity Costs:
Students will not need to pay for anything at this event.
